This handmade katana is made of folded steel. The folding process removes impurities from the steel, leaving only the finest quality steel. It is heat tempered in the traditional manner. The blade is heated to the correct temperature and quenched in water. The wooden handle is wrapped in genuine Stingray skin (Samekawa) before the traditional cotton handle wrapping (Tsukamaki).
